Looking for something fun to do this month? You’re in luck! Fort Wayne has a ton of great activities for everyday fun. With over 90 miles of trails, parks, and local entertainment, Fort Wayne is never short of fun. June brings even more fun with a host of special events. We’ve put together a list of our top 15 things to do in Fort Wayne this month.
June 2: Lunch on the Plaza
Take a break from work and head out to Freimann Square for Lunch on the Plaza. Enjoy great food from some of Fort Wayne’s finest food trucks and free live music from area bands. Lunch on the Plaza kicks off June 2nd and runs every Thursday through August from 11:30-1:30.
June 3 (plus every Friday): Friday Nite Live
Love live music? Jefferson Pointe, just down the street from Poplar Ridge Apartments, will be a happenin’ place in June. Friday Nites Live is their weekly family-friendly concert series at the courtyard fountain. Bring a chair and enjoy the music of the Junk Yard Band on June 3rd. Other June artists will include Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra, Hubie Ashcraft Band and Todd Harrold Band. Enjoy live music from 6:30-8:30 pm.
June 4: YLNI Farmer’s Market
Shop local produce, plants, baked goods, crafts and more every Saturday through September 10 from 9a-1p at the outdoor YLNI Farmer’s Market located on the corner of Wayne and Barr Streets.
June 4 -5: Arab Fest
Celebrate the Arab culture and heritage with traditional dance, food, live musical performances and more. June 4-5 at Headwater’s Park.
June 5-12: Germanfest
Eating, drinking, and having a really good time. That pretty much sums up the annual Germanfest. Head down to Headwaters Park for 8 days of celebration all under one roof..err..tent. You don’t have to have German heritage to join in on the fun!
June 8 (plus every Wednesday): Summer Nights at The Embassy
Head to the Embassy Theatre after work on Wednesdays from 5-9 to unwind with food, live music, and drinks. June 8th features music from the B45’s and Big Apple. See the full schedule here.
June 11 (plus every Saturday): Rock the Plaza
Saturdays, all Summer long, at the Library Plaza are the place to be for free live music from some of Fort Wayne’s top talent. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy and come Rock the Plaza! June 11th features music from Kerosec, Marnee, Red Arrow, and the Jon Durnell Band. See the full line-up here.
June 13-19 TinCaps Baseball
The TinCaps have a run of home games June 13-19 as they play West Michigan and Bowling Green. Enjoy the game, entertainment, special promotions, and fun! Check out the June schedule for game times.
June 16-19: Hobnobben Film Festival
Love movies? Then you’ll love the Hobnobben Film Festival presented by the Fort Wayne Cinema Center. This 4-day film festival will feature independent films, question and answer sessions with directors, panel discussions, and after parties.
June 16-19: Ribfest
Grab your eatin’ pants and head down to Headwaters Park for award-winning bbq, brew, and live music at Ribfest!
June 17-18 GearFest
The Sweetwater GearFest June 17-18 is the US’s largest music gear trade show. Admission is free and open to the public. Enjoy special deals, musical performances, hands-on demonstrations, workshops, and more!
June 18: Northern Indiana Pet Expo
Pet lovers, bring your pets out (or come adopt a new one) to the Allen County SPCA’s Northern Indiana Pet Expo. Shop for your furry friend or adopt a new one from one of the over 20 area rescues. Enjoy demonstrations, entertainment, reduced fees for microchipping, plus so much more!
June 20: Margarita Monday Paddle Social
Join Fort Wayne Outfitters for the Margarita Monday Paddle Social. Bring your own boat or board or rent one and see Fort Wayne from the river. Afterwards, head to Don Chavas for their famous Margaritas!
June 23: Brian Posehn Presented by Let’s Comedy
You may know him from his hilarious stand-up comedy or from film and TV, and now’s your chance to see him live! Let’s Comedy presents Brian Posehn at The Tiger Room at Calhoun Street Soups, Salads, and Spirits.
June 25: Buskerfest
Buskerfest returns to downtown Fort Wayne June 25 from 4-10pm. Enjoy a myriad of street performers including live musicians, fire dancers, magicians, mimes, balloon artists, living statues, aerialists, and more!
