Things to Do This Week in Fort Wayne

headwaters park in Fort Wayne, INWhen you live the apartment lifestyle at Poplar Ridge apartments in Fort Wayne, IN, you have lots of extra time to enjoy each month with your family.  We never want to hear you saying “but there’s nothing to do in Fort Wayne,” because that’s simply not the case.

Something brand new for the Fort is the Living Fort Wayne Concert Series, offering free family friendly concerts on the first Wednesday evening of each month this summer downtown in Headwater’s Park.  Tonight, the entertainment starts at 5pm and continues until 9pm.  Several of the Fort’s favorite food trucks will be on hand, and J.K. O’Donnell’s will be hosting a beer tent for adults with a one dollar admission charge.  If you cant’ make it tonight, the next concerts are July 2, then August 6.

Another place to enjoy free music with the family every Friday night all summer long is located just down Illinois Road from Poplar Ridge Apartments at The Jefferson Point Shopping Center. This week features the Junk Yard Band, and  the free Friday Night Summer concerts continue through September 5th.

There are some not free concerts of note this week as well, with Grammy Award winner Anthony Hamilton at the Embassy Thursday, June 5th. And The Guess Who perform at the Foellinger Theatre on Friday June 6th part of a summer long series of outdoor concerts.

Another free family event this week is Canal Days in New Haven.  This annual celebration runs Wednesday through Saturday this week in Schnelker Park in Downtown New Haven, IN.

We’ll get the rest of the June schedule up shortly.  There’s plenty to do this month in Fort Wayne, but don’t forget Father’s Day on June 15th.
