Protect Your Apartment From Zombies

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge a topic that is obviously inevitable: the Zombie Apocalypse.  When it comes to zombies taking over the world, the question is not whether or nit it will happen, rather the question is when will it happen?!?! Fortunately, there are steps you can take now in order to make sure that you and your apartment are safe during a zombie invasion.

Planning

The first step that needs to be taken is to have a plan in place for you and your family, in order to prepare yourself for the zombie apocalypse. Keep your family up to date on any changes to the plan. You don’t want to be caught off guard when the day comes.

It also helps to draw up a quick diagram or blueprint of the apartment floorplan. This will help you to take note of all the individual points of entry and allow you to focus on any areas of vulnerability.

Know Your Enemy

Because of my extensive research (I’ve seen a handful of zombie movies, watched the Michael Jackson “Thriller” music video about a dozen times, and have participated in the Fort Wayne Zombie Walk for the past few years), I can tell you that in the event of a zombie apocalypse, a “Night of the Living Dead” type of scenario is much more likely than a “28 Days Later” scenario. By that I mean, I am almost certain that you will definitely be able to outrun any zombies in any situation.

Arm Yourself

I’ve always said that the best defense is knowing how many items in the room can be used as a weapon in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Look around and take note of every object and every room. This is also a good excuse to go shopping to buy more items that may be helpful in the (near?) future. And, keep a good pair of running shoes next to your door in case you need to make a quick escape!

Stock up on supplies and be prepared to bunker down in your Poplar Ridge Apartment when the zombie apocalypse hits Fort Wayne.

Most of all, have a safe and fun-filled Halloween! (And, try not to take this post too seriously!)
