Charcoal & Gas Grills Aren’t Allowed on Patios or Balconies at Apartments in Fort Wayne
Poplar Ridge Apartments in Fort Wayne, IN, are situated in a beautiful park like setting. It would be a perfect place to cook out every night on your patio, using a charcoal or gas grill, except for just one thing.
It’s against the law, and your Poplar Ridge lease:
Several years ago, the State of Indiana revised its fire codes to basically ban the use of charcoal or gas grills on apartment patios and balconies. This was done, of course, to protect apartment residents from fire.
So the grill ban in our lease is just to conform to state laws. However, if you read your lease further, you will find that we do allow the use of electric grills on your patio. You still enjoy grilling your dinner outdoors all summer, and most electric grills look and work very much like charcoal or gas.

However, for those of you who prefer a to cook on a charcoal grill, Poplar Ridge Apartments has four barbecue grills located throughout our property where you can legally cook using your special charcoal, and your favorite flavored wood chips.
