A Guide to some of the Halloween events going on this week!
Halloween is finally upon us! For most of us, that means going to a party and dressing up like whatever political figure or Hollywood star that may have done something scandalous this year. And then again, for many of us, that means taking the kids out for a fun evening of Trick or Treating. Yet, for other brave, daring souls, it means getting out and experiencing all of the haunted hot-spots you can find right here in Fort Wayne! However you choose to celebrate Halloween, there is sure to be something going on for everyone!
Fort Wayne’s Haunted Hotspots
If you find yourself out and about this weekend, looking for adventure, and “haunted” houses don’t do enough for you, perhaps you can check out the haunted bridge on Bruick Road. Legend has it that if you park your car on the bridge, you can see a mysterious white light moving around, and sometimes changing color.
Or perhaps you might run into the ghost that likes to frequent Char’s House of Oak on Wells Street. It has been reported that the apparition of a man has been seen haunting those who visit.
If you find yourself on Auburn Road, chances are, you could very well be visited by some strange apparitions that have been said to be creeping around the Haunted Nature Preserve. Legend says that the Nature Preserve was once the spot of an Indian burial ground.
Not-So-Scary Halloween Events
If haunted, creepy-crawly things aren’t your scene, perhaps you could swing by the Philmore’s 5th Annual Monster Mash this Friday. The Philmore on Broadway will be hosting one of the best Halloween parties in town! Join them for drinks, a photo booth, costume contest, and a live band!
If you are looking for something fun for the whole family to enjoy, check out the Botanical Conservatory’s annual Punkin’ Path. The conservatory’s outdoor Punkin’ Path will be decorated with beautiful pumpkins, gourds, and other fun, festive scenery!
Or bring the kids to Fort Wayne Children Zoo’s annual Wild Zoo Halloween! This year, you can pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, find your way through a mini maze, trick or treat, and much more!
Make sure to plan a visit to Black Pine! This Saturday, 10/25, from 3-6pm, the wild animal sanctuary in Albion (just a short drive from Fort Wayne) will be hosting Howl O’ Ween with trick-or-treating stations, animals, refreshments, a bonfire and more! Admission is only $5 and all proceeds help fund the winter care of their animals.
Whatever Halloween event tickles your fancy, Fort Wayne is sure to have it all! Have a safe and fun-filled Halloween from your friends at Poplar Ridge Apartments.
