September is almost here and that means many things for Poplar Ridge Apartments Residents. From community walks to chili cook-offs. Fort Wayne is the place to be in September.

Fort Wayne famous Mad Anthony Brewing is hosting the 17th Annual Oktobeerfest on September 12th at Headwaters Park. There will be many local brewers and amazing food. Brewers tap their kegs at 2:00 as more than 1,000 people sample their brews.

Sunday, September 13 from 1pm to 4pm at the Allen County Fairgrounds on Carrol Road is the annual Autism Acceptance Walk. This is an event to raise awareness and donate money to families living with autism in our community. Registration is $15 per person and that includes an autism awareness t-shirt.

Saturday, September 19 Stand-up comic and political figure Bill Maher will be performing at the Embassy Theater. Dont miss this funny and thought provoking event.

Saturday and Sunday, September 19 & 20 Fort Wayne’s Johnny Appleseed Festival is back. There will be demonstrations including, tinsmiths, apple pressers, and blacksmiths galore. Enjoy great food, great people and entertainment.

Who’s ready for fair food and carnival rides? The Bluffton Street Fair – September 22-26 and the DeKalb County Free Fall Fair – September 28 – October 3 will have something for the entire family!

Saturday, September 26 bring your tums and eating pants and join the Allen County SPCA for a Chilli cook-off. There will be delicious chili ranging from mild to HOT, beans or no beans, red, white and vegetarian. Bring the whole family for chilli, adoptable pets and great people. Cookout starts at noon and runs until 3pm.
