Although it’s almost time to send the kids back to school, or maybe you’re heading back to school yourself this month, there’s still more summer heat and summer fun to enjoy! Maker Faire
The Fort Wayne Regional Maker Faire is back August 8 & 9 from 10a-6pm at the Headwaters Park Pavilion. The Maker Faire “celebrates things people create themeselves from bond-worthy gizmos to Martha Stewart foods and clothes.” A showcase of creativity, you’ll see everything from robots and rockets, bicycles, electronics, woodworking, alternative energy vehicles, inventions, and more! Enjoy live music and food from some of Fort Wayne’s food trucks.
Poplar Ridge Resident Appreciation Superhero Bash
Poplar Ridge Apartment residents, mark your calendar for August 14th from 5-9pm and prepare to have a SUPER time at our Resident Appreciation Superhero Bash! Enjoy free food and drinks such as hero sandwiches, awesome sauce, and power fluid, play BINGO, sing your heart away with karaoke, and have a chance and winning door prizes, cash prizes, and a 46″ smart TV!
Segway Tours of Fort Wayne
Every Saturday at Noon and 3pm and Sunday at 1pm take a guided tour of historic Fort Wayne on a Segway! Segway tours are an exciting way to experience what Fort Wayne is all about. The tour starts with 15 minutes of Segway training and than we are off to tour Fort Wayne. Whether you want to check out the area, or just want an excuse to ride a segway, this tour’s for you!
Old Fort VW Show
Love Volkswagens? Head to Shoaff Park on Saturday, August 15th from 9a-3p for the Old Fort VW show. Their will be Volkswagens on display, games and toys for the kids, food vendors, live music, and more!
Color Me Rad
August 22nd lace up your running shoes and get ready to get colorful. Color Me Rad is coming to Fort wayne. The race starts at 9am. All racers will receive a t-shirt, a pair of knee-high socks, a color pack and free professional photographs of the event.
Philmore Phest
There’s live music every weekend at Fort Wayne area clubs such as the Brass Rail and CS3, and August 22nd is no exception! The Philmore Theatre will showcase some of the great Fort Wayne area bands including Heaven’s Gateway Drugs, Orange Opera, Keegan Warran, and others, plus enjoy food from the Bravas food truck. Love music? Don’t miss the Philmore Phest!
Taste of the Arts
Saturday August 29th from 11am – Midnight experience Fort Wayne’s Finest Arts and Food Festival — The Taste of the Arts. Festival includes Live music, Hands-On activities for all ages, Busker Square, and local art for sale.
